Counselling Training

Professional Counselling Qualifications

Devon Counselling College is an independent training college that was formed in 2006, and has facilitated the training of over three hundred students who have achieved counselling qualifications.

This is an exciting time to be thinking about becoming a counsellor, as there is a growing recognition and acknowledgement of the value of the work we do. However, as there are currently no recognised training standards or regulation of counsellors in the UK, the different routes to qualification can feel a little confusing as you begin to research the various courses and training that are on offer – our team are always happy to talk you through this and to help you to find the best training for you

This can be followed by applying for BACP Accredited Member status, once a member meets the criteria and has been in supervised practice for more than three years.

Our Courses

You may like to start your training with a Counselling Training Taster session to see what the training is about and the work that it entails. This session can also be used as an introduction to self development and communication skills. To find out more about our counselling training taster sessions visit our courses page.

We currently deliver a SEG Awards ABC Level 2 Award in Counselling Concepts, a SEG Awards ABC Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills and the SEG Awards ABC Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling which is the level required to practice as a professional counsellor in the UK. To see our full range of courses take a look at the our courses page.

In addition to this we offer a number of post diploma courses and workshops for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) which are added throughout the year, so please keep an eye on our website.

We feel extremely proud to have assisted so many learners in developing their counselling and communication skills since we started the college, (please make sure to browse through the testimonials provided by a few of them) and our dedicated team would really love the opportunity to facilitate your training and development in the future.
