Jenny Ashby Counselling Services

I will be forever grateful to Devon Counselling College for helping me make my dream come true. I am now a qualified counsellor and working with clients in my private practice from home. Julie, Henri and Jan have supported me every step of the way. They not only guided me through the academic processes of the level 3 award and level 4 diploma, but also through the challenges that came about in my private life. Dreams do come true!

Driftwood Counselling

Throughout my training at DCC I felt supported and more than just another student at a college. The tutors knowledge and passion for counselling was evident which in turn fueled my desire to become a counsellor. I would recommend DCC to anyone thinking of becoming a counsellor, the journey is tough but well worth it.

What an amazing journey I had at DCC. I learnt so much about myself, I built new relationships with like minded people, I overcame struggles and throughout it all I was fully supported by the tutors. I highly recommend DCC as a safe and enjoyable place to study counselling.

Counsellor

Wow wow wow……. I wish I did this years ago!!! It’s the best money I have ever spent and the most fantastic thing about it is not only have I benefited by it myself, I am now able to use my skills to help others, it’s a true gift that just keeps giving.

From the initial interview to completing the course (and it wasn’t always easy or not challenging) I felt that Julie and Henri were both highly professional but also open, honest and there for me.  I hadn’t felt that true honesty in my working life before, so when they did give me advice or praise I really believed it and used it to learn about myself.   It was so refreshing I didn’t need to look for the catches as there weren’t any it was all about ME.

Like I say, not only have I learnt so much about myself it has freed up my life to different possibilities, my choices and my decisions.  Julie and Henri have also given me the tools and confidence to start up my own private practice, which is another journey again but one I feel well equipped to go on.

It was scary working and getting the assignments in on time but I loved it because it was something I really enjoyed and was genuinely fascinated about.  The support and feedback from Julie and Henri was phenomenal as it really made me reflect on my skills, what I did well and what I needed to work on.  It was honest and truthful and that was the best way of learning about my true self.  There were also opportunities to get and give your fellow peers feedback which was also affirming to hear.  I have made such close and supportive friends from attending the course, who continue to be my support in my new adventures in counselling. If you are thinking of doing it but not sure, just do it, you’ll love it!!

I can’t thank Julie, Henri, Jan and the rest of the team enough for moving my life forward in a such a positive way.

Sidmouth Counselling

My counselling journey with Devon Counselling College has been nothing short of life changing. I felt supported throughout my training by a very experienced, professional and caring team who always made me feel as though I mattered. The courses are delivered in a personalised way that allows for individual growth at your own pace, and consequently I was able to develop my own individual style of counselling. The course equipped me with the resources and confidence to begin practice as a counsellor, and I now run my own successful private practice.

Proud2Be

Training in counselling can be an emotional and vulnerable experience and the team at DCC always ensured that I was held and supported throughout the process – they genuinely care about their learners. The team work hard to create a safe and welcoming space where learners are encouraged to trust their instincts, and become their own type of counsellors.

Training at DCC changed me completely. Their friendly, encouraging and warm approach allowed me to look at myself and let go of some of the things that were holding me back. The team bravely reach for their own past personal and professional experiences to help build learners confidence whilst teaching invaluable skills and practices. I feel that I now have a wealth of tools that I use regularly in both my personal and professional life.

If you are looking for a friendly, approachable and professional learning provider, then look no further. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Accanto Counselling

It all started a few years back when I saw a ‘Taster Day’ advertised at DCC. It sounded interesting! Who would guess that today, and after going on to study levels 2, 3 and Level 4 Diploma, that I would be running my own successful Private Practice in Newton Abbot and loving every minute of it!

Training to be a Counsellor is no easy task, yet it is also hugely exciting. For me, a large part of the experience was personal development. This affects many areas of a person’s life and the lives of those you touch also.

Because of the way Julie and Henri teach and facilitate I felt nurtured and cared about in a way that promoted independence and self awareness. I felt safe enough to find and accept the real ‘Me.’ which obviously has a profound influence on how I work.  I couldn’t recommend DCC more highly.
