This 14-session diploma introduces three main nature-based therapies; Ecotherapy, Shinrin Yoku (Forest Bathing) and Walk and Talk therapy. We explore ways to work therapeutically with your clients outside the confines of the traditional therapy room. Including ecotherapy techniques, mindfulness activities, Gestalt-based interventions, and shamanic elements.
The training encourages you to explore your relationship with nature and how this informs your work with your clients. You will be inspired to find your own niche and way of working with clients in a natural environment.
You will learn about the practicalities involved in nature-based therapies to ensure that you practice safely, including how to contract and where to get the right insurance. We look at the theories behind the therapies including learning about the benefits on people’s well-being, how to work with eco-anxiety, and when not to take clients into nature. During the course, we will visit several different and diverse locations and explore how to work in different environments and differing conditions.
For most of history, humans have been connected to the earth, being in tune with the seasons and the evolving cycles of nature. Since the advent of industrialism, we have gained several amazing things, medicine, technology and ways to connect to each other on a different level. However, with this has also come a sense of disconnection, increasing mental illness and a deep sense of loss for many people. Here is where nature-based therapies can make a difference; by enabling our clients to reconnect with nature and the environment, we can begin to flow with nature again to heal the connection we have lost.
Our trainers are experienced therapists trained in Ecotherapy and Shinrin Yoku therapy with several years of experience working with clients.

Option 1
Early Payment Fee £1300
Pay £200 deposit to secure your place on the course, followed by one payment of £1100 made by BACS one month prior to course start date.
Option 2
Course Fee £1400
Pay £200 deposit to secure your place on the course, followed by 6 monthly standing order payments of £200.
